There are CF cards with USB. I saw them on the COMPUSA.com site.

But after reading the boards here, it looks as if support for such devices is limited and buggy.

Also, you already have USB transfer capability...thru ActiveSync.

IN fact, I dont see how a USB card would make the PDA recognized in Windows Explorer. All the USB card does is add support for hooking up USB devices.

Let's say you want to use your USB gamepad on your axim...well, that's where they getcha...there are no drivers for the Axim.

Finally, AXIM's have USB 1.1. This means they are s l o w.

If it's an issue with fast transfers, do what everyone says...and I shall be the first in this thread:

Buy yourself a card reader...PERIOD.

I mostly had this idea in mind, so that I could use my x50 as portable storage as well. So that If I am somewhere and need to take some files with me...i can just plug it into any computer with USB and then transfer the files to x50. Didnt really want to carry around the cradel

just carry around a small card reader. that way, you can just stick the SD or CF card from your axim in it and have a mobile hard drive of sorts.

Or you can just buy a plug and play USB bluetooth dongle or a plug and play USB Infrared dongle. This way, the computer you hook it up to doesn't have to have activesync installed.. But make sure they are plug and play.

UGHH!!!

I purchaced a plug and play USB bluetooth dongl from blue-gene, and my experience with it has been horriable. there drivers cd comes improperly buurnt, there software, once installed gives you lisenceing issues, the user manual is filled with typos and gramitical errors, and there tech-support department has no idea whats going on....

Sorry for the rave, just dont make a mistake and buy your dongl from a un-popular company...

Ratoc makes a cf 1.1 USB host card that supports PDAs. You can by it at http://shop.store.yahoo.com/firewire...usb11hosa.html

It's $139.00, they have a list of supported devices that you can hook up to.
