Loss of sensitivity with screen protector?
Hey guys,

I finally got my Brando Workshop Screen protectors in and so I rip off the cheap Fellowes WriteRight that I had on and put on the Brando's. But I find that these screen protectors are so solid that I need to write/tap a bit harder on the screen for it to read the input.

Tell me, is it just with these Brando Protectors or does it happen with all the good screen protectors? Is there something maybe a bit softer like the Fellowes one I was using but doesn't feel as flimsy?

I wouldn't worry about it. There will be a small loss, I suppose (although I don't think I've really noticed one with my Boxwaves). However, with screen protectors, you either have the soft ones that are useless, or the stiffer ones. As far as I know, there really isn't an inbetween.

Yeah, definitely just gonna have to get used to it. my boxwave is very stiff, but after months of use, you get used to what pressure you should use. The cheap ones suck, and require replacement waaaaayyyyy too often.

Is there a way to deal with the lint too? Maybe my room is dusty or something but the 30 seconds or so from peeling the protector to trying to place it on my screen I ended up collecting some lint and I had to keep taping the back to remove the lint and try again.

Any trick to putting it on?

Which ROM version are you using? The original ROM version had poor screen sensitivity, but the ROM updates (from A02 and up) improved on that a lot. I use Brando on my X50 and have no problems at all (with A03).

If you want to reapply the protector, wash it first to get the lint off, then use a hair dryer or a lint-free cloth to dry it. Then reapply it in a semi-steamy room (i.e., run the shower for a few minutes in the bathroom) or use scotch tape to protect the adhesive side while you slowly reapply. There are a few posts on screen protection application techniques that you can search for.
