X 50v Back Up Battery
I have had a few loses of information lately when my Calendar alarms do not seem to be shutting off and then it drains my normal battery fully. I had to do a full restore today. I now have a back-up battery low alarm and the back-up battery shows at 30%. I tried to search the forums, but could only find a bunch of information on the X5 back up battery not the X50v. Can somebody answer the following:

1. Is the back-up battery rechargable, or simply a regular "watch" type battery?

2. What battery model # does the X50v use?

3. How do you change it? Where is it located?

Thanks. I would like to fix it soon to avoid further memory loss.

The backup battery is rechargable and will keep your axim going for about 30mins (while you change the main battery).

It charges while you charge the axim and is not a user replaceable part.

The X50 models have a rechargeable backup battery, and it's not replaceable without taking it apart; even then, I'm not sure you'd be able to find a replacement readily available.

And if you take it apart... you destroy your warenty.

I think you just need to charge it for a while

Thanks Guys, I did see that my back up battery did recharge back up from it's 20% level earlier this morning. Can anybody recommend what needs to be fixed in the set-up to prevent the PDA being drained from a 100% full battery and back-up battery when it is supposedly off? I think it went approximately 4 days without use, although I am pretty sure some calendar alarms came on, but must have failed to go back off.

You can never turn your PDA off. It just goes into powersaving mode. I've left mine a week and still had juice in it though.

You may want to buy a copy of sprite backup. Everynight at 11pm mine does a full backup. If the battery does go flat all I have to do is recharge it.. and restore from the last backup. takes about 3 mins to have a working system again.
