Ear phone for X50V

I want to download some music onto my X50V. Can anyone suggest some earphones/buds to use?

This is actually a question that has been asked many times, so you might want to try a search. You'll find many opinions. Some of your decision will be price-based. I use Sony MDR EX-51's which sound great, block out about 70% of outside noise and you can find them for ~$20.

How is the surrounding sound ? It might be dumb, but I always listen music when I walk outside, and I want to know when a car is about to hit me

check out http://headwize.com/index.htm for a wide range of headphone reviews. I have been using the Koss "Plug" in-canal ear buds, with some minor mods, for a couple of years with various devices and I love them

It's a strange feeling - I ride a bike with these on, so if I turn the volume up I can only hear the music so it feels like your body is foating in the air... Very strange feeling...
But if I turn it down I can hear the surrounding sounds, faded, but I still can ...

Also try head-fi.org for recommendations ... they seem to prefer the panasonic hje50's sound (pretty much the same design as the sony ex series) to the above models

there are lots of headphones to choose from... but I would select some with a built-in volume slider - to save retrieving your Axim from your pocket / case / etc all the time!

I agree. I've had mine for about 8 or 9 months and have had no problems. I made the mistake of buying the Sure E2s about a month ago for $80.00. They don't sound as good (bass is lousy) and are not comfortable at all. Lesson: Higher price does not equal better a better product.

I bought the sharp MD-33s from audiocubes.com They are awesome. They block on most of the external noise, while providing extremely clear and accurate sound. They are $50 (shipped), but in the world of in-canal earbuds, that is relatively cheap.
