ht820

I am interested in getting one for myself. Does anyone know if tecgadget or anyone selling on ebay that is reliable? I don't want to end up with a "B" brand product.

Thanks!

Hmmmm....only 2 posts and tecgadget only sells 2 items that everyone is looking for?

Seems kinda strange to me - No info on Internic except the guy's name: Bob Sammer and the site name was registered Feb 2006.

I'd pass.

Hi all,

I recently bought the HT820 (off ebay, for £30), and have to say, it works really well! I have an x51v, with A06 and the standard MS BT stack but with the A2DP update, and it worked straight off. It can take about 10-20 seconds to automatically pair, and it seems to help if the axim and BT are switched on first, then turn on the headphones. Also, I sometimes get sound cut outs if the axim is in the lower pockets of my baggy trousers (ie, near the knee) but if its in a jacket pocket, it works fine.

The remote control functions are cool, means no more fiddling around and getting finger marks on the axim screen! Tried the headphones on my computer, and they're ace, get a much better range, so I guess its the BT power on the axim thats limiting.

Definately a worthy purchase I think!

too late for me. I jumped on the low price.
I'd already ordered before I posted. I was kinda leery myself
but somewhat (naively?) reassured by the fact they use google Checkout (is that new?).
anyway, if i remember, i'll post again when I get them and try em out.

bigbop, if you're referring to my 2 posts then yes, i just joined this forum because I was looking at the headphones.
I didn't even realize this was a pda group until i remembered what an axim was.... i owned a toshiba pda a couple of years ago.
anyway, 2 posts...
I just had to replace my cell phone w/a new razr. whenever i get a new phone i see what accessories are available.
As this phone includes an MP3 player, I became interested in getting headphones for it... first wired, then saw bt were available.
the excitement builds. I search for the lowest price and reviews from others.

when I'm interested in an accesory, I google it. this site came up with this thread. Thought I could add something of what i'd
found in my search for others.

p.s. what's this about "B" stock? why a difference (A vs. B),
how can you tell if you have one?

Toshiba? my condolenses to you. I own 2 E750's. nice enough but Tosh's fix for their crappy PDA cust support was to get out of the PDA market all together.

There are two series of HT820 headsets: A and B. The A series was the first batch manufactured last year. The B series (current batch) has a slightly different chipset architecture. Some people have issues with either series depending on what you're trying to pair it with.

I have the A series and it works well on BT only with my X50v (A05 F/W) Widcomm BT stack although the Axim's Texas Instruments BT and WiFi chipset seems to have dropout issues when both are active at the same time and I'm using the HT820.

I can positively say this, because the headset doesn't exhibit the dropouts when used with my Dell laptop and BT and WiFi are both active. If you need info on how TI implimented their BT/WiFi chipset, check out the BRF6150 product notes on TI's website.

Is there anyway of identifying whether you have the A or B series?

I beleive it's part of the model number on the inside of the headband. You'll need a magnifying glass and a good light source to read the printing.

not a problem for me anymore, I lost it or it walked away last year.

OK
I thought B stock referred to refurbished models...

I checked mine - I've been using it for a month or so, and it only skips when my system's in motion physically, or is at pants-pocket level, with Widcomm. No B anywhere in it except in the serial number, or what I think is the part #.. and it's not at the end. It just says HT-820. Great headphones, IMO - not as nice as the Pulsars, but they're pretty cheap and the throbbing blue light is stylish in a 'look, I'm a geek!' way.

check the letter on the models
if the last letter is A, B, C, this should be first batch
mine is D, that I seldom have skip problem (however, I have some click noise when I connect to laptop with Bluesoleil)
