Best USB Bluetooth Adapter / Dongle ?
I just ordered a laptop, and want to be able to sync my Axim with my new laptop.

I've been looking online at different BT USB adapters, but I haven't found a general consensus on the best ones.

Ideally I'd like to be able to use the adapter to:

Communicate with a future BT headset
Sync/Transfer files from my x50v
Use a BT mouse with my lappy

..and have the adapter be current enough for the next gadget that comes out

TIA

I've got a kensington adapter. It works on my desktop syncing my X50v and talking to my phone. It runs a mouse on my ibook laptop. It is also the smallest one I've seen, a consideration since it hangs out the side......

Bluetooth
I use the IOGear device. It is bluetooth 1.2 compliant so you can load the newer Broadcom drivers. However, they are not supplied by the vendor. There are some others out their that do support 1.2 and have the newer drivers. They are needed to use those truly cool Bluetooth headphones.

I use a cNet CBD-101. It's a Blutooth 1.2 device that's USB 2.0 and uses BlueSoleil software which supports about everything you can think of, including the high quality audio driver for the headphones you want. I can also receive high quality audio from another device (like the x50v w/ the broadcom drivers) and pipe it out any sound device you have installed. It's pretty spooky to hear things from your PPC played out the PC .

I'm in between this and the Iogear GBU311, link
, do you know of any reviews for the CBD-101. I really like the price and it sounds like it has everything I need but would like to get a little bit more information on it.

If you could provide any pictures or any more experience you've had with it, that'd be great!

I'm sure you'll be fine with either. Amazon lists the GBU311 as a Class 2 dongle which would be a big difference in range with other longer range BT gear. However, Iogear's site says Class 1 like the cNet so I'm not sure. The cNet is a USB 2.0 device whereas the IOgear is 1.1. Also it looks like the drivers that come with the cNet support some additional profiles that aren't listed with the IOgear. (I didn't see the high quality audio stuff for things like BT headphones, or the reverse for feeding audio into the PC from a remote device) Personally I'd go for the cNet considering it's cheaper and has these additional specs. I've never had any trouble with it personally, and it's very small with a nifty blue LED when in use

I ordered a generic one off eBay that said it did up to 25m / 80ft. Can't remember how much it cost any more (it's over a year ago) but worked fine with my computer!
