Krusell Handit case for x50v?

Hello, I just ordered my Axim x50v. I'm looking for a decent case. I have always loved Krusell cases and will probably get one if it fits the x50v.

http://krusell.se/product.php?s=2&product=1958

My question is.... I see that the screen area is slightlty larger on the x50v. How is it possible for both units to use the same case? Unless the case was designed with the "v" in mind.

Is anybody using the above Krusell multidapt case with their x50v? Does it cover any part of the screen?

Thank You!

(My first post on aximsite)...I'm moving over from ipaqhq and selling my ipaq :)

Bellagio Review

Not too sure about the Krusel case but I use the bellagio case. here is a short review with my impressions:

The Bellagio Black Leather case for the Axim X50 and X50V.

A similar case (for the X5) was reviewed by Aximsite. The review was found here:
http://www.aximsite.com/articles/link.php?id=26
These two cases are fundamentally similar and I can’t really add very much to the review except to emphasize certain points.

Overview
On opening the package, I was struck by how well made this case was made. The fit and finish was excellent. No loose threads, no crooked or missed stitching. The black leather was a pleasing matte black. There was an oval metal “Bellagio” logo near the top of the case front. The leather was uniform in appearance throughout the case. There were no mismatched pieces of leather used in the construction. I bought the version without the belt clip as I don’t plan on carrying it on my belt. I have a small camera case that I carry so I can keep my wall charger, USB sync cable, headphones, adapters, etc. in close proximity with my X50v. If I’m at work or home, I just carry the X50v in my pocket. The Bellagio case is ideal for this.

Features
In the front flap and the back of the case are metal inserts. These make the case rigid to prevent damage to the X50. The edges of the case stick out past the edges of the PDA protecting the edges in case the unit gets dropped. There is a snap in the back, which while it looks like a regular snap, is actually a magnetic catch. This allows engaging and disengaging the catch to be very quick. Being shaped like a snap fastener makes it a very positive locking mechanism that will not slide open if pulled. This also allows you to fold the front cover all the way back and engage the snap. What this gives you is a ‘handle’ that you can slip your hand into, thus providing a positive grip on your X50V when used outdoors. I have been using this feature quite a bit when I am out on our factory floor and I appreciate the secure grip it gives me.

Surrounding the top and the bottom of the screen is a U-shaped metal bar that serves to support the display area and keep the front flap from touching the display when the case is closed. This, along with the piece of metal in the front flap, adds to the rigidity of the case and would serve to distribute any impact that might occur (as well as keeping the impact away from the screen). Since the screen is the most delicate part of the X50V, this is a definite bonus. With the case closed, I think you could drop a substantial object on the PDA and not damage it.

The back of the case has a flap at the very bottom. This flap pivots out of the way when the case is set in the cradle. Inserting the cased X50 into the cradle is no more difficult than inserting the uncased PDA. I also use this flap to prop the case up sometimes. It holds the case at an angle when set on a tabletop. This allows me to read a book (using ereader) when I'm eating. Apparently some thought went into the design of this case.

There are cutouts in the back for the reset button and in the top for the headphone jack. All controls are accessible once the front of the case is unsnapped. The side controls can be accessed with the case closed. The leather in the front is thin enough that it doesn’t get in the way of operating the controls. The leather pieces that support the sides and bottom of the case are thin but they are reinforced by a black nylon backing and the edges are securely stitched with a locking stitch.

Conclusion
Personally, I think purchasing this case was money well spent. My second choice would be the Sena case.

I just ordered the Krusell x50v case from aximcases.com. I have always loved the krusell cases I had for my past PDA's. On aximcases.com, it appears they have a discounted x50 Krusell. It must be an old design with the smaller screen window.
