Car Charge and use USB cable or adapter
Hi,

I want to charge my x50v in my car and plane. I also need to have the x50v connected to a device (weather receiver) that utilizes the USB port B port. Therefore, the connector for the Axim must have an end that accepts a USB B cable, like a PC or a hub. Or should I plan on running the USB cables into a small hub.

Also, do any of the car chargers support 24 and 12 volts?

Thanks,

Jerry

Well for chargers you can look at the Belken 3-in-1 kit from Dell which will give you plenty of current to charge the x50v, while in use, in a car or from an AC wall socket. The car adapter is 12V though. There are airplane adaptors for 12V cigarette plugs from places like Boxwave. If you're looking at other options, make sure they offer plenty of current (like the 2amp range if you want to be safe).

As for hooking up a USB devive to the X50v, I'm afraid you are out of luck unless you by a CF card that gives your x50v USB host abilities. Out of the box it isn't a USB host.

Other users of the WxWorx weather receivers are directly connecting the receiver to their IPAQs with just a cable. Is the IPAQ a USB host?

I would guess your weather station is serial rather than USB, if it is then you need something like this http://www.serialio.com/products/ada...rial_RS232.htm

I'm not really sure, but there could be IPAQ models with USB host ability. Different PPCs seems to have different features. (Like your x50v having CF, SD, Wifi and BT quite the combo I think) So either they have a USB host built in, or they bought a CF USB host card, or maybe they are using the Bluetooth version of the WxWorx reciever (looks like they have one). I'd just drop them a line and see what the scoop is.
