Mugen 1800 mAh battery for x50v?
I ran across this thread over at Brighthand, showing photos of an 1800 mAh battery, supposedly by Mugen. The post said that it would start shipping in August. Anyone heard anything about this?

If it does come out, I think that I'll definitely buy one, (or two.) The 2200 mAh battery is just too thick for my needs, but this one looks like it could be squeezed into my Sena leather case.

I just check the Mugen website, (www.lionbattery.com,) and they do NOT have anything listed yet.

We'll see...

Here it is, I think I want one. It sure seems like it will fit in my Magnesium case.

I am not so sure. The Mag case is rigid and fits the axim quite snuggly. I don't think there is room for 2 mm more in there.

Please, someone, prove me wrong. I really want that battery, but I am not willing to change mu case.

I tried puting my Axim with a 2mm shim into my Mag case, and it did not fit. It really started to stress around the top front corners when I attempted more force. I would say that the battery will not fit with the Axim in the Mag case. The battery is supposed to add 2.3mm.

Damn, I was pretty interested in this battery too. I've got the same case as you, so it looks like we are out of luck.

I for my part am still wondering if the Axim with battery will fit into the Rhino Skin Alu case. I looked at it closely and it looks like the only way to fit slightly more than 2mms in the back is to bend the "holding jaws" that make sure the Axim doesnt fall back and forth between the front and back cover. However, if this works, doing so will result in the Axim falling back and forth 2.3mms if used with the standard battery - a thought not that pleasant to me...
Questions, questions, questions...
I want somebody with an Alu case to give me a positive feedback, but if the battery becomes available soon, I might just order one right away and do that myself...
What do u guys think? Any chance we see like a magnesium case that is optimized for the 1800mah battery?
And I still need to buy some GPS... Gauge this gonna be one expensive month of August...

greetings,
cmdkeen

I don't think so. The best we can do, for the mag case, is to check the thickness of the neoprene. Maybe, if it's thick enough, if we remove the middle part the axim with the bigger battery will be able to slide in. That's still a big IF.

As for your GPS, have you looked at the Arkon GPS car mount on the home page? It looks like a great product. I have been looking at GPS for a while. Since I have the application (mapopolis), but I don't have a car mount or the power cables, I'm gonna go with this one.

I doubt that anybody has theirs yet, since they're still out of stock...
Ah, screw it, I got some random leather case still lying around anyways, I'll order one and see how it works with the rhinoskin...

Thats the spirit . Let us know if they give you a ship date. I noticed they have been "out of stock" since it has been on the site. I am suprised the Mugen member has not replied to this to give us the heads up.

I was just wondering, if I was using my hardcase, would I even need the battery cover. The case itself would hold the battery. That would shave down some thickness.

This sounds like it might be a really good idea. I never even thought of that.

I just thought of this too. If you dont use the battery door, and you also shaved some of the Mag case neoprene down, you might buy yourself enough space to fit it in there.
