emergency screen protector
So my Axim should arrive tomorrow...I fear my screen protector won't arrive until Saturday...is there anything I can use in the mean time...I hate to go out and buy something...could I cut a transparency film to use for a day or two? Any other ideas?

I really don't want to mess up the screen. Thanks

Paula

Just be careful using it until you get the screen protector.

you can be careful, you can leave the protective sheet that comes with it on, or, I've seen some people say they use plastic wrap (no idea if that helps tho)

I would say that your screen will be fine for a few days if u use it carefully. I didnt get a screen protector for about three weeks but my screen never got any scratches in it.

I did the transparency protector thing, and although it worked, a few caveats:

1. Because it's not adhesive in any way, it slides around and can be a pain to use.

2. I made little tabs to hold it into place. If you're not careful, the tabs may cause screen sensitivity problems.

3. It scratches very easily. Rather ugly, but at least it's just a temporary solution.

been using my x50v flatout for the last two weeks with no screen protector and is fine so far, no scratchs or anything.

got a belagio case for it.. awesome case.

I have a few palm m515 screen protectors I never used on my palm I might put on it ( seems to fit but with about 2mm gap around the edges). used my palm 515 for 2 years without a protector and didn't have any scratches... and that was high usage :-)

just ALWAYS use a quality stylus. and keep screen reasonable clean of big chunks of dust/dirt :-)

I used a piece of overhead transparency film for a week or so, while I was waiting for my Boxwave protector to arrive.

I cut a rectangle a few mm bigger than the screen. Then, with a bit of fiddling, I was able to work the edges of it under the case around the screen to hold it in place. Its ugly, but it works as a temporary solution.

Back when I had an Apple Newton there were no such things as screen protectors. Transparency film was the best thing we had. Kept our screens nice 'n safe as we trudged through 9 feet of snow, uphill, to school and back every day. And we LIKED it that way!

Crud, I feel old now.

You can be fine without a screen protector a few days. Just TAP and dont go drawing on it.
Drawing on the screen protector is what destroys it.

I have had my X50V for 5 months and have never used a screen protector. There is not ONE mark on the screen. I tried the Dell protectors and to me they are not worth the hassle of getting them in place, align correctly and bubble free…
