Cheap 5GIG HDD
found this mp3 player with a 5 GiG hdd, any chance the hdd would work in the cf slot of an x50v or a cannon IS S1 digital camera.

well it might work... but a lot of the manufacturers now lock their microdrives to stop people using them in pdas etc.. so it is something of a gamble

I agree --- wouldn't be worth the chance for me to gain 1 more gig. you can get the Hitachi 4gb .. which we know will work for the same price.

probably wouldnt work...so many companies have now started locking the drives to ide mode.....

User guide at GoVideo's site mentions that you can drag and drop files to it. It appears as a removable drive.
Kinda implies it may work ouside the device.
