I bought a Socket CF Scanner off of Ebay awhile ago for about $100.00.

I also previously Connected a Symbol serial scanner to my old Ipaq 3800. I did have to buy a wedge program in order to send the scanner input to the active window (i.e. pocket excel, notepad, etc.) The program I bought was Serial Magic from Serialio.com. I have not tried it with my X50v yet.

Man iPaqs ruled back then. There's even a phaser looking reader for ipaq 2200s.

I'd think the CF solution would be best for Axims with CF slots.
