Hitachi Mircrodrive...
Hopefully I will be purchasing an Axim X50v within the next few days. I know I will be needing a high capacity storage drive, but I don't have much money to spend. It seems microdrives are the best bang for the buck. I was wondering will the Hitachi 4GB Microdrive Compact Flash Type II work in the Axim? I have also seen a Hitachi 6GB OEM microdrive for sale, but I get the feeling that it won't work and that the 4GB one will.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 4GB Hitachi (non OEM). Works fine! Make sure you do the "tape trick" so you can remove it when needed.

I am using the 6GB version, works well!
DO NOT BUY THE OEM VERSION, IT DOES NOT WORK!

Caution: If you play music from this, pick the music players that allow buffering to save on battery and perhaps headache.. (I was using GSPlayer and I dropped my Axim few inches (protected in leather case)- That was enough to kill the Microdrive) Since GSPlayer can not buffer and constantly reads data from disk, I just assume this has caused the lost. I am using Mortplayer, Pocket Player and since then I dropped few times, the Mdrive seems to survive thru...

They both work. I got the 4GB model from TheGeeks and the 6GB model from Dell and both run fine. The only problem is deciding which movies I want to carry on a given day.
