Is this possible??
I have a Magnesium case for my dell x50v and obviously it won't be able to accomodate the 1800mah battery. I was thinking, would it be possible to cut-out the back of the magnesium big enough to be able to fit the extended batteries? Is the case brittle? Will it be able to withstand a drill? Also, this will be very convenient when changing batteries, no need to remove the axim from its case.
tia.

it may be possible to cut but i am not completly sure and the only thing to bare in mind is you would be leaving the battery unprotected as it is exposed.

I dont mind risking the battery. Should be safe enough unless it gets a direct hit. Anyway, I was hoping that someone with a broken mag case try it out if it is feasible...before I start drilling and filing...

I know people have done things like this on Aluminum cases but I don`t know about the Mag.

Do you have to do anyting special when working with Magnesium?

...burning the case will be my last option. Lol
Already started measuring the dimensions to cut, but, why in the world did dell oversize the stupid cover? Cutting that much will certain ly compromise the case's integrity.... ( maybe I should cut the cover down to size...hmmmm....

Well, good luck in your endeavor. I'd be interested to see how it turns out.
