Anyone know brands/models of some digital cameras that plug into the SD slot? I know I've seen them, but search engines just seem to return pages and pages of storage cards.

You need to be careful of the one by LifeView since it looks like it might cover the audio jack.

Good question. You will need to use either Main Memory or Built-in-Storage.

Is there any SD or CF Camera with Optical Zoom?

My question is are there any cameras over 3.0 MP's. It seems like all of these are around 1.3 Megapixels. Is this really the best resolution that our PDA's can handle or there is too little demand that manufacturers don't even bother.

yes 3 mps is really the threshold otherwise even standard 6 x 4 prints will look slightly pixelated.

That's only if you are printing out the pics. I haven't printed a pic in ages. Took a trip to Universal Studios last year, took over 500 pics, posted the best to Flickr, and emailed the site to friends and family to look at on their PC. On the PC, 1280x1024 is more than large enough for good veiwing.

The big difference is having a good optical zoom. If you can't frame the picture well using the full resolution of the CCD, at 1.3 Mp you can't really "blow it up", all you are really doing, even with digital zoom, is cropping the picture.
