what else can I buy for my X50v? :-)
OK, got X50v coupla months ago, and have since bought/made these hardware accessories:

Belagio Leather case
1Gb sdcard
spare battery
VGA lead
today screens'n'plugins
bluetooth usb dongle
Wifi usb dongle
Wireless Access point

Don't need a keyboard/mouse

looking for something interesting to buy around the $130us range... (note: in australia)

ie:

Bluetooth or CFcard GPS
CF Camera? any that do 1 or 2 Mpixel?
bluetooth audio receiver - for playing mp3's on AX and transmitting to amplifier.
cf usb host card - plug in my 20Gb usb laptop hdd?
Bluetooth 56k modem or Lan-card - for when I travel - hotels has anaolgue lines
cf tv tuner/radio

anything else hardware related that would be cool to use?...

BT GPS is my pick

The gamepad is fun also, but does not fit around the x50v properly so you have to use it separatly while the x50v sits on a counter or table or something

For GPS, is there any free software for map guidance? I can't afford to pay 230$ US for BT GPS + Mapping software.

yea top idea

What about a spare custom battery the size of a cf card?... hehehe get an extra 400mah in cf card size? dunno.

I can't decide either.

don't worry bout me I'm just rambling on to work out what I can get that will actually be usefull

cf camera? - why not just a compact camera with cf card ie canon ixus400, still have to cary the cfcamera seperate as won't fit in case. so I probably won't get a cf/sd camera
cf memory - possibilty... 1/2/4gb card
or 12GB CompactFlash Card Type II 80X > Mfr: Pretec lectronics $7,549.95 hahahaha yea right!...
cf tvtuner - bad signal strength.
cf am/fm radio tuner - nah just use car radio, or $5 radio from '$5 shop'
cf gps - nope I'm better off with BT GPS, but no support for Australia so nah.
cf usb host adapter - reasonable idea, but too expensive for what you get, get a 2G cf card instead.
CF gprs - browse the net anywhere :-) - very expensive plans in australia so no.

ok, only thing I think is worth it out of those is a cf memory card... pretty boring really

ok cf out of the way next Blue tooth:

Game controller - I like this idea. cheap and probably better than x50v buttons/dpad
gps - nice idea, but need to wait untill better support for aussies
keyboard/mouse - don't know if it's worth it as I do most typing on pc, and sync data to pda for reviewing/reference...
BT stereo headphones? will it be actuall stereo from Ax?... like this idea car x50v mount with power and BT receiver hidden next to amp to receive stereo signal - quality of audio over bt?...
BT 56kmodem - another handy idea for when I travel to hotels/motels

not convinced on anything yet.

maybe I will just buy some more software, or wm5...

You can look in the GPS Forum

I think the cheapest SOFTWARE ONLY you can buy is around 60-80$ with it topping out at around 300$

You can buy software for just your region also which will make the price cheaper

Would it be safe to hook up a thin phone battery to the battery connector on the x50v to give more battery capacity?
