Axim X50v Bluetooth Keyboard Driver
I have been downloading the bluetooth keyboard driver on the Dell site for a couple of days. When I go to install it, I get an error that is has a bad setup file. Is anyone else having this problem? The file's name is R107814.exe

Sounds like you are running the .exe on your Axim. It should be run on your PC with your Ax in the cradle. The driver is installed via ActiveSync.

Hope this helps...

I'd strongly recommend going to www.thinkoutside.com on your pocketpc and downloading straight to your ppc from them. It worked really well for me. (Please see JD Cronin's post #39 for details on another thread here: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=91868). I couldn't get the latest drivers from the Dell site and they didn't work.

Additionally, I recommend updating your operating system to A05 if you haven't already, because bluetooth greatly improved for me afterward.

Oops, Magnum, I just posted and forgot to mention that Dell's bluetooth keyboard is the same as the ThinkOutside Stowaway keyboard. And the other thread I posted was extremely helpful to me to obtain the best driver. I hope you get a chance to read it.

Much better advice, Jen. I used the Dell drivers for a while before abandoning them for the TO drivers. They are much more stable. Either way, Magnum, install the drivers to main memory. I had too many problems with them anywhere else.

I haven't heard about this. Is this your personal experience or did Dell address BT in this update? I have A04 and it's ok except for the range. Did A05 improve your range?

Badgerdog, I went from version A02 straight to A05, so it could very well have been A03 or A04 where they improved Bluetooth. I'm not certain. I simply found that just installing the TO drivers wasn't enough for me to get my keyboard to connect so I bit the bullet and did the upgrade. I'm so glad I finally upgraded.

Thanks Jen! I'll try it. I got A05 the day it came out, but mine had come with A04. I am just impatiently awaiting WM5.

Regards,
Dennis
