Which sync cable, ac and car adapter to get for X50v?
After reading all the threads (kenban's,snerkel's, others ) on dangers/merits of using 3d party sync and charge cables, I still can't make up my mind on the best set up for charging my axim X50V in the car and charging/syncing at work.

I made up my mind that I do want usb cable that will not overdraw current. Ok is there any 3d party sync/charging cable that doesn't cross 5v to a 5.4V pin? Or my only choice is Dell's own cable.

Now if I do get USB sync cable, I do want to be able to connect ac adapter to provide extra power. Dell doesn't seem to sell ac adapters for x50v. I haven't seeing any posts on this forum which ac adapter will work. People reported that PSP car car charger worked for them, does it mean that PSP wall AC adapter will work as well? None of the websites that I went to lists specs of the PSP AC adapters. Adapter that came with the Dell is rated for 5.4V/2410mA.

This PSP car car charger seems to be ok, unless people have better suggestions. I like that it has this std power connector that I can connect into the Dell's usb cable, incase I need to sync and charge at the same time. I don't know why I would need that, but it is a possibility.

Thanx.

From reading that long thread(charging cable thread) it sounded that boxwave cable does cross 5v to a 5.4V pin. Is is so? I would like to find a cable other than Dell that doesn't do this.

- from my understanding ANY sync cable that charges without external power will cross the 5V to 5.4V (does it cross to both?)
- PSP AC power supply output is 5V
- I use a Motorola V3 car charger with an adapter I made to convert from Mini USB Type B plug to USB Type A recepticle so I can plug my Boxwave adapter to my Motorola V3 car adapter which outputs a measured voltage of 5.3V+???
- I hope it dun damage the 5V line if the USB VCC is indeed crossed to both 5 and 5.4V, but should be ok
- BTW did it cause didnt know bout the PSP and also cause mobile phone car chargers are easily available and cheap and this way I can now power any USB powered device!

What current are PSP AC adapters are rated for? Dell's adapter is rated for 2410mA. Can PSP AC adapter produce enough current to charge the battery and run X50V?

Based on current consumption mentioned on other threads it sounds that 5V/2A should provide enough power to run and charge X50V. Perhaps, someone used PSP AC adapter with axim and can either confirm or deny this.
