Rhinoskin case
Hi guys,

I have a quick question about the Rhinoskin case. How do you guys like it? Does it fit in your pocket good? I was thinking of the Sena case cuz its flip top and it might feel better in my pocket when i go to school and stuff. So tell me the likes and dislikes you guys have with it. Thanks!

Btw, anyone know any good flip-top cases like the Sena? But cheaper?

I have a Rhinoskin for my X50v and overall I like it. I don't have to worry about dropping it or having it in my pocket. The downside i see is that I can not charge my x50v in the cradle with the case on so every day I have to remove it from the case multiple times to dock it. Now it seems that the case does not hold my X50v tight, when i have the front cover open and using it the X50v seems like it could slide right out the top if I tip the top down without being careful.
Overall its a great case for me. Very durable. I have not tried any other cases though. I am interested in seeing what everyone else thinks.

In my opinion DO NOT GET THE RHINOSKIN. Sure it's a great hard case, blah blah blah. But there are some servre downsides to it.
1. When the case is open, it is very hard to wrap your hand around and grip it. The door gets in the way.

2. Cannot sync while it is in rhinoskin.

3. Cannot maunually soft reset in rhinoskin, must take the Axim OUT in order to do this. There is no hole in the back.

4. It adds a lot more bulk/weight

5. Scratches the top corner of the axim due to a bad hinge design, also scratches the pda's silver sides when constantly sliding in and out.

therefore get the Sena case, You'll love it much more than this Rhino Skin.

I use a RHinoskin and love it.

1. My hands wrap around it with no problem. I place my thumb on the buttons and the door rests on my hand above my thumb and the Axim sits in my hand. I'm female and have small hads though. Not sure if this makes a difference for the guys.

2. I sync via BT or travel sync cable and have no problems here. My cradle is used for nothing other than a battery charging station. If I want to use it I would just slide it out. No big deal. No harm will come to my Axim while in the cradle.

3. The lack of a reset hole did pose a problem, but it was promptly and neatly taken care of with a drill. Mine has a reset hole. I will agree that this is a problem off the shelf, but it can be easily remedied and does not hrut thecase in any way.

4. It does add a certain amount of bulk; however, the case is offering superior protection so it's not for nothing. The weight of the aluminum verses a leather case with the mirror to protect the screen is comparable.

5. Mine has not scratched my Axim and I use it everyday. In fact, it has protected my baby from many of scratches and falls.

The first time your Axim tumbles across a concrete sidewalk or pavement in a parking lot you will never regret using a Rhinoskin.

As far as the reset hole, just install psShutXP and soft reset via a stylus tap......

I, too, own a Rhinoskin case and am quite happy with it. No problems hanging on to the case here, either; and I'm 6'1" with good sized hands. I slip the Axim out of the case every night to charge it; the X50v still looks brand new, not a scratch on it. So, the amount of protection that the Rhinoskin offers is well worth the minor inconvenience of removing the Axim from its case every night.

I've manually reset my Axim maybe five times since I've owned it (it does get auto-reset every night after the Sprite Backups), so the lack of a reset hole is a non-issue for me.

Finally, while the Rhinoskin does add a little bulk, the smooth aluminum makes it that much easier to slide in and out of my pocket.

Alright thanks guys! I'm gonna try to get one from Dell, since it's the cheapest. I wanted to check out the Sena cases cuz its soft and its "flip top". Since when i take it out, i would like to flip it over...i guess its less ackward.

I really like my Sena case. Although it's not going to save my Axim if I drop it from a height, the ability to sync/charge on the cradle without taking it out of the case is wonderful.

I am a Rhinoskin user with X50V also. I bought it because I had to get some accessories to use the discount code and I heard that it was really though and durable. Well all these are good things but the paint on the silver parts of the PDA are really peeling, especially on the right side. I'm definitely not happy about that. It can slide from the top of the case easily like others said and yes the way the case door opens, it's not too comfortable to use. Hey, wait a second why am I still using this case???
