Outlook 2003 @ home, Outlook 2003 Biz Contacts @work

Current setup at home using Outlook 2003 & Pocket Informant, syncs with x50v...all ok and has been.

I just changed jobs,...Now in a new office and using Outlook 2003 Business Contacts version. I have not set up to sync at work yet...but need to asap.

Question.....@work....will syncing be confused by using reg.Outlook at home and Business contact Outlook at work? How do I maximize privacy at work and still have function of Outlook at work?

If your issue is whether or not the 2 different Outlooks will sync with each other, that's not a problem. Some of the elements from the newer version may not sync with the older version, but they're usually not important (I think 2003 has the ability to have a picture associated with a contact, something that's not supported in previous versions).

If your issue is in "which" contacts to sync with your new job, you can setup Categories in Outlook, and then tell each ActiveSync which of these categories you want to sync.

For example, if you don't want your family members loaded into your new Outlook, make sure they all have a category, and then tell ActiveSync, NOT to sync that category of contacts (Options>Contacts>Settings). Same thing with Calendar.

I use business contacts in outlook but i've never been able to see them as an option to sync. I don't think it's even possible.

Does anyone have a work around for this?? I've just spent hours separating contacts into "Business Contacts"!

Are you trying to sync Outlook's Business Contacts to your PPC?

If so, you will need to install this software from Microsoft:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

If this isn't the answer you need, let me know.

Good luck,

Chris

Just a quick note that that link is not for WM5.
