As of Oct. 3rd 2005, Macromedia now does not host the free Flash 6 Player PPC. You can now, however, purchase it for $499. I am NOT kidding... $499. From the SysReq it looks as if you can develop files actually on your PPC. That can't be right. Anyone have any enlightenment on this??
Not like the PPC v.6 player is very good anyway, you can't visit many new Flash enabled sites using that PPC player. It is the 2002 version.
umm... thats always been like that. thats the standalone player, the one that integrates with IE is still free. though i have no idea how that actually works properly.

No sir, it has not always been $499. That's why the info link i posted states "As of Oct.3rd." Check your facts. They no longer advertise the free player for IE PPC.

What??!!!! :rolling:
Macromedia softwares are important designers' tools , what do they have to do with their abuse by corporate companies?
The U.S. is a country where gun manufacturers get sued over abuses of their products, so that sort of mentality isn't all that surprising. Disappointing and potentially frustrating, but not surprising =)
Are you suggesting Macromedia never sold their product to corporate companies with the pitch that they can get their ad noticed better?
Well it's like sueing Autodesk company (AutoCad sotware maker) for colapsing of a building, this is crazy... what macromedia has to do with some kids drawing repulsive ads for companies stupid enough to believe that it would attract customers...
I agree. Although it reminds me of one kid approaching me the other day , trying to convince me to become vegetarian because of the geese force feeding (which is by btw is already illigal in our country), etc. to help the animal rights struggle. Well, yes it would help, but it misses the target, as in animal right struggle your ability to influence is in hitting the abusing companies' pocket. People will always eat meat, the technological proggress is unstoppable , this is human nature, what do we do with it and how , are the areas we should put our attention to.
This makes no sense. I mean the whole point of flash is that the player is free. If they start charging for the player people will stop making flash files cause they know they won't be getting as big of an audience as before.
