What did you find out about any settings on the Axim?

Ok, hit "Find Me" on the V710.

Scan for new devices on your Axim by hitting "New Partnership"
It will find the phone and ask for a passkey, type it in.

Phone will ask if you want to bond, select Yes. Then the phone will ask for the passkey. Enter the same one you entered on the Axim.
And select yes or ok or whatever.

Phone will verify and save.

Axim will keep going and say it was rejected or whatever and ask for the passkey again. Enter in the same passkey. This time it should be ok and ask which services you want to use.

If you see Dialup Networking select it and you are in business.

If it is like mine you won't see any services. Click Refresh at the bottom right, may need to minimize the keyboard. It should bring up "Dialup Networking" select it and hit finish.

Lemme know if this helps."

Just to be clear, this did not help this person, but I thought I would post it anyways.

For the record I have the Dell Axim X51v with WM 5.0
My Phone is the Motorola V710 from Verizon Wireless
S/W Version: 8700_01.40.0R

I've used this phone before as a BT Modem for my laptop using a USB BT Dongle.

I just connected to the internet using my Axim and the V710. Went to a new site to make sure it wasn't a cache site.

I'm not sure what to say, I got it to work using the steps above.

I'm also interested in the E815, I bought the V710 right when it came out, one insurance replacement in May. But I have to check my old apartment mailbox for the settlement paperwork. Wonder if I can make an even trade with the V710 for the E815. Probably need to check howardforums.com to see if anyone else has done that.

Anyways, I hope this helps some people. I know it can be frustrating. Mine was not working at first, but finally after messing with it I got it to work.

I'll be out of town this weekend, but if I get a chance to sit down when I get back I'll go through the steps again and see if I can see if I'm doing something I did not document.

Good luck everyone.
I am still unable to connect, I have used yours (and other suggestions) and nothing works. I am on the road this week, I plan to get with a friend of mine next week that also has a new Axim to see if it will bond with my phone. I have successfull made a bluetooth connection with my phone and a Dell laptop and with a Palm t3.

I have been able to use my V710 via bluetooh on my laptop and a Palm T3 to access the web. But not the Axim. I don't suppose it would be good etiquette to offer a reward for the solution but I am tempeted. It is worth a $100 bucks to me.

Ironman945, did you get a chance to look over you configuration to see if there is any other setting we should be changing?

Still no luck.... Tried the new ROM update for the Axim. Still won't work.

Good news!!! A work-around has been found to use the V710 as a dialup modem for the X51v! :)

See this thread, about half way down the page. It involves using a registry editor (Total Commander works), so proceed if you are comfortable editing your devices registry.
