Soti Pocket Controller Bug with x51v!!!!!!!!

This bug is not a problem in normal use, but I wanted to warn you NOT TO TRY TO USE THE VIDEO ACCELORATOR WITH THE X51V!!! unless you enjoy performing hard resests. The PPC soti screen gives you the option to "try" the accelerator and if it doesn't work you perform a soft reset and it goes back to disabled. The problem is that it doesn't work with the x51v and when you perform a soft reset it does not disable it.

Interestingly Soti still works and you can operate the PPC normally although the top and bottom bar displays are distorted. The problem is the actual PPC display only shows the Dell Bubble boot screen and nothing else. If I knew the registry setting or dll that was involved I would have tried to fix it with Resco Explorer, but wasn't sure where to look. Did try removing Soti from the Startup window but this only disabled soti and made no difference to the PPC's operation.

I am now going to see shortly how well the built in backup performs as I am restoring my system now. I am about 40% done with the restore so will try to post later on how well the restore works.

EDIT: Just a thought if this happens to you go ahead and try switching it to enabled, soft reset, and then switch it to disabled and soft reset again. No idea if this would work but it would be worth a shot.

I had the same problem with an earlier version of Soti Pocket Controller and my X50v. Haven't really tried it it with the newer version, but it works fine without it enabled, so why chance it? But thanks for the head's up - My X51v is on it's way!!

Didn't know it would be such a problem or I wouldn't of tried it.

I do like Soti and have used it for years but felt people should be made aware of this. I consider it a serious bug to try to test the option following their directions and have to perform a hard reset to recover. I am sure I am not the only one that would see if the option helped or not.
