Loose lock button

Hi there,

Only had my 51v for a couple days. two things I just noticed as I pulled it out to play with it for a sec after a couple days hiatus due to work. One, the lock button is loose, and if I shake the axim, it moves and makes a clilcking sound. is this normal? Second, it was fully charged only two days ago, and I locked it, but today it totally lost it's charge and wouldn't turn on till I put it in the cradle. I thought that if I locked it, the battery would last much longer than two days. I think my previous toshiba went for longer than that. Any thoughts appreciated.

Loose is normal. Locking only prevents accidental activation by button pushing, has nothing directly to do with the battery life.

Interesting, I thought the New x51 model, when turned off (is really off) to conserve Battery Life?

Yeah, whatsup with that locking tab. I love to shake my Axim, but that clicking has to stop.

Thanks alot ladies and gentlemen,

When I first received it I guess I was having way too much fun to notice something like that. As for the notch, I'm guessing that's for a lanyard.

I am still wondering why your x51 Axim battery drained when not in use, I thought that was part of the WM5 upgrade, Off is really Off

rsaturn9,

I'm also puzzled as well. I thought that you could turn it completely off, so that there would be no use of electricity to keep the os running in the ram since it's in the rom. I know that batteries lose their charge by virtue of the fact that they're just sitting around doing nothing, but I did not expect them to run dry that fast.

That's the same impression I had heard about the X51

Did you REALLY turn it off? The on/off button on the X50 series has two functions, at least it did on the 50's. A quick press is on/off, a longer press is bright/dim. Is it possible you just dimmed the screen and didn't really turn it off?
