Anyone else leaving x50/51v?

Im shopping for a PocketPC phone to replace my x50v, got tired of waitinng for WM5 CD, thought might as well join the club, with Push Email, an additional work phone and handheld in one. I love GSM phones and seriously looking at the K-mate as a replacement for my x50v, has anyone else done this?

So wait. What companies use these devices? They are awesome and just what I have been looking for. I can't find a decent PDA Phone from Sprint, my cellular provider. Are these for use with any service or what? And where do you find prices?

GSM service providers!
I guess T Mobile for one!
JASJAR GSM/GPRS Pocket PC is just around 1000 bucks!

However since you are looking for Sprint, here is one:

Yeah. I was looking at that one. And I actually found the prices for some of their Phones and OMG. The JASJAR is $1200.

I like that one from Sprint, but it isn't available yet for Normal people like myself.

Wait for Motorola's RAZRBERRY. It's got the form factor of the RAZR and runs WM5 and is licensed to work with the Blackberry network. Due this Xmas.

Nah I'll stick to two devices. I love my Motorola cingular phone and my Axim X50v, sure it is two devices, but unless these two love birds were combined, I couldn't be more satisfied.

The JASJAR at $1200 is a bit OTT, considering it does not do EDGE in the US, it has a different high speed available only in Europe, I am looking at the I-Mate K-Jam which has everthing I need, I'm just wary about dealing with a grey import, what wil service be like?

It's processing speed is 195Mhz. Isn't that a bit low?

I'm contemplating on an HP 6515 or an imate jam. I'm just tired of carrying two devices with me all the time. I'd rather have it on one device. I think i'm gonna pick up the imate jam. A little older, but i like the form factor and the proven quality.

Depends on what you plan to use it for. No, it's not as powerful as the x50 but most people don't need all that power.

The TI OMAP processor speed number is deceiving. That ~200Mhz is actually a fair bit faster than Intel's Xscale processor. Most people are saying to feels just as snappy for most everything and even handles video without a problem.

The used that processor because it is much better on battery performance.

What size screen do these other devices have? I have a hard time imagining using a SmartPhone for anything other than phone and PIM. There's no way I'd want to watch a movie on a 2" screen...and if the steward-person on the plane sees the phone out, they're going to demand that it goes away.

I understand the device convergance theory--but not with the general trends of "smaller is better." Most of us bought X50v or X51v models because of that larger VGA screen...
