ActiveSync 4.0 Causing Dropped Wireless Connection

Hi,

I just got a new Axim 51v, and installed AS 4.0. As soon as the device is connected, and ActiveSync creates the Local Area Connection, my wireless Internet connection drops. In order to get it back, I have to disconnect the 51v and reboot. Just trying to reconnect to the wireless router does not work.

I have tried the leaked 4.1 software, but it makes no difference. I have disabled firewalls, spyware, and antivirus, but no difference.

Any ideas?

I have to say I am not impressed with the new Activesync. I have used Activesync on PDAs for years and never had an issue. Now with the way it uses a network adapter and interferes with firewalls and the like I have to say it is a great step BACKWARDS!

I have just broken an Axim out the box and am not experiencing the issues you describe though.

OK, FWIW, I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 with the Intel 2915 wireless card. I found that by reinstalling the wireless drivers from Dell after installing ActiveSync 4.0 fixed the problems. I can now sync and not lose my wireless connection.

ActiveSync 4.0 must have overwritten something important related to the Intel wireless drivers.

Hope that helps somebody else one day :)
