D-pad settings

I have a question -- is there any way to modify the settings for the d-pad? The "left" on my d-pad is not working, and looking in the x5 forums it looks like they have the ability to modify the settings for the d-pad. I'm hoping messing with the settings might fix my problem, so I don't have to send back my otherwise perfect axim for a refurbished one.

The start/settings/buttons only lets you map the four buttons on the front and the two on the left side of the x50. Is there some hidden button mapping control panel (or some third-party tool) that would let me unmap/remap d-pad clicks?
