Before You Grab the Screwdriver - A Newbie Battery Cover Story

Just got my Axim 51v this morning. Of course, I was anxious to play with it so I tore open the box, got all the pieces out, and saw that the battery had to be put in.

I unlocked the battery cover and tried to push it off, but it wouldn't budge. Then I got out a paper clip and tried to pry it off, but gave up because I was afraid of breaking the cover. I opened up the user's guide to see the illustration of the cover coming off from the bottom so I tried to pry it off from that edge without any luck. Finally, I came to Aximsite.com to see if anyone else had a stuck battery cover - but everyone else had problems with their cover staying on.

As I picked up my Axim and whipped around to try a bigger screwdriver, the cover flew right off and landed on the floor. It never occurred to me to just flip the Axim over so the cover would come off. Sometimes we just miss the obvious things. Hopefully, someone else can get a chuckle out of this or some other newbie can read this before scratching up their Axim.

Lol, I was just having this issue the other day when my 2200 mAh battery arrived and I had to take out the stock 1100 mAh. Funny how so obvious a solution can be so elusive.

Don't you just love gravity? It keeps you from whacking into the moon at 80,000 kph.
