server is busy 85010017
Every other sync or so on my Axim X51v I get the error "The server is busy support code: 85010017" I have to unsync my inbox, then resync, then resync the inbox, then re-select my folders and sync again. Any ideas out there? Anyone else having this problem. Happens all the time over and over again.

Recoverd from serious error
Also, on the Axim x51v (piece of junk thus far...) I consistently get "Activesync recovered from a serious error... you will lose any changes made since your last successful sync" What the heck? Anyone else?

Okay,so almost a month and not one person has chimed in to help. Can someone at least post whether or not they've heard of the 85010017 error? I feel like the only person in the world having this problem.

I have this exact same problem. I am a complete newbie to this forum (actually, a complete newbie in terms of owning a dell pda) and I have been browsing this site for solutions... to no avail. I'm hoping someone will respond with some insights.

I also get that message on occasion. I'm anxious to find if you've found any help.

Look at that link above. It's not just the Axim x51v. It seems to be a problem with AS and/or WM5.
Sadly, when we buy a device using a brand new OS, we are basically volunteering to be guinea pigs and beta testers. I know that's not fair to the customers (to say the least), but it's just the way M$ does things. :rolling:

I hit the same problem. Then I watched closely on the sync process and noticed it always stops when it syncs Notes. I realized that I just added a note on the Axim x51v. After I deleted the added note, the problem went away. Although adding a note on the device should not stop sync, deleting that file does solve my problem.

Still having troubles...
Shoot. Seems like the people refenced on the link are talking about having an office computer with Exchange. I don't have that, just a single computer, one partnership, no exchange. Still haven't been able to track down the cause. I have latest ActiveSync and WM. Still receive the error on occasion. Not as much as I used to since I've updated, but still every so often.
Any other ideas guys? Thanks for the help so far!

Hi,
I am having this 85010017 error.
If I try to sync calendar, tasks, notes, files I do not have the error but when I do all of the above PLUS contacts I get the 85010017 error.
I have a large contacts database in my Outlook file.
I just replaced a Windows Mobile 3 phone, and the syncing worked for the Windows Mobile 3 phone even with my large contacts database.
I guess that this problem is a Windows Mobile 5/Activsync 4.1 issue and not a hardware issue. The problem is my contacts on my Pocket PC are not completely syncing which makes me wonder if I should ask for a refund, not knowing when Microsoft will fix Activesync 4.1 so that it works as well as the Activesync 3x versions.
Anything anyone can suggest more than wait until Microsoft cleans up its Activesync 4.1?
Thanks

The solution for the sync issue is to enable "Use Cached Exchange Mode" on your exchange account settings, then the sync will be locally (faster). When you do this let Outlook do the cache for some minutes (watch task bar icon status). Then no more server busy....

I get the same error sometimes.
I just keep hitting the sync button and eventually it goes away.
Sometimes it seems like it might be related to the fact that my PC's CPU is churning away at some other task when the Axim tries to sync.

I also noticed the status stopped around hte Notes section. After looking what I had for notes, I found that I had a duplicate in there i.e. "New Recording 1" and "New recording 1(1)" deleting them has seemed to solve the problem so far, but only time will tell. BTW the recordings were exacly the same thing, just with the (1) next to it, don't know why Outlook duplicated them
So I guess check in your notes to see if you have any of these duplicates and delete them.
