x51v: Can't connect to windows server shares
Hey all. I picked up a new x51v recently and have come across a strange problem that I just can't figure out. I cannot connect to file shares on windows server 2003 boxes (I've tried two -- haven't tried other versions of server). I CAN connect to shares on XP boxes (these shares also require logging in to access, just like the server). Everything's on the same network. I can pick up my old iPaq with PPC2003 on it and connect to the server's shares without any problem at all. Why won’t the axim connect?
I know my axim can reach the server because I can connect to its web server and use terminal services from the axim. No firewalls are installed or enabled on the servers.
Using the file explorer that comes with WM5 I enter in the path to the share (\\servername\sharename) and it prompts for user name and password endlessly like the credentials aren’t being accepted. With Resco explorer I enter the path in and I get the same user name/password screen. After entering the username and password it gives me a generic error message that the resource doesn't exist or I don't have permission. If I just try to browse the resources on the server with Resco is says "Cannot connect shared path. Unknown error." I know I’m entering the right user name and password (same user name and password works on from the ipaq).
Anyone seen this before? Thanks for any help in advance!

I found something similarly strange. Using TCPMP I can connect to hidden shares on my Windows 2003 Server, but using the file explorer I cannot access those same shares! I can, however, connect to visible shares using any method.

When I first received my X51v I tried to connect to a share on a 2003 server and received an error. I don't remember it even asking for a username and password which surprised me at the time.

It asks me for a username and password, but only if it's for a visible share. I typically use \\server\c$ a lot, and that doesn't work in file explorer or even rosco file explorer, but works fine in MPTCP!

Did you try domainame/username?

That's a good idea. Both servers are domain controllers. I haven't tried TCPMP for mapping yet either. I'll try both as soon as I can and post the results. Oh, and the shares I'm trying to connect to are not hidden.

No luck inculding the domain name when logging in. When connecting with tcpmp it acts like it connects but the only thing listed in the share is the directory "..", which isn't right.
