Registry Edit on x51v

I just purchased an Axim x51v, a jump from an Ipaq 4155. I am just loving the screen, having come from a QVGA device. One problem I am having however relates to Pocket Outlook. I have a Comcast email address, and when I use pocket outlook to check the mail, it takes an inordinantly long time to log onto the server. There was a registry hack on PocketPC 2003 that addressed this issue, so I used a registry editor to make the change to Windows Mobile 5.

After I exit the registry editor, the hack works perfectly, and the problem with Outlook is fixed. However, when I soft reset the device, my DWORD addition is removed somehow. How can you make registry changes permanent so that they survive a reboot?

Thanks!

Try a software soft reset (using a program to soft reset) instead of the hardware button. It seems to make a difference on some of the changes I have made.

I agree with what Ken says above from reading other posts;

software reset seems different from pushing the button on the back, BUT what software do you use to reset?

On my old 50v I managed to get an icon called soft reset.lnk and it was easy

Can anyone help?

I just use PsShutXP. Seems to work fine on the x51v. Make sure to use the vga version.
