Cradle / Charging

We all know the problems with the Ax cradles.
Pain in the "you know what!"

Here's my ??? of the day.

Is it alright to leave spare battery in the cradle and, other
than a few hours per day travel time, leave the X50 in the
cradle? While out, I have "Bar Toy" (my Ax) on constantly.

Does anyone think I might be ruining two batteries?
One on charge, constantly, Ax (although on) also charging,
all the time?

The Axim can be in the cradle as the battery get constantly recharged. The Axim battery has a security circuitry to prevent overchargin it. The Lithium battery likes to be charge and it doesn't cause any damage to it. Now the question about the spare battery, I don't know but I assume that the security works even if out of the Axim. I remember when I recieved my spare Mugen battery the package had this note written on it. Do not charge for more than 24 Hours. I follow that rule by charging the spare only if needed. It keeps it charge very well.

Thanks Frenchy.

I guess I'm still in the dark ages. Remember the days
of automobile voltage regulators and generators?

Wouldn't be a disaster, having to purchase a new
battery, but, wouldn't want to be without the
Ax for too long. I too sometimes remove the spare
battery from the cradle, if I remember. :)

With the Ax off, I often switch spare to Ax, Ax
current battery to cradle. Doesn't cause any problem
and, I hope, never does. FYI, both are original equipment
batteries.

You are doing exactly as I do and it never cause me any problems so far. I think we are safe as long as the battery circuitry works.
