X51v vs. X50v w/WM5?

Has anyone had a chance to compare performance between the two? A lot of users have been reporting that their upgraded units feel slow. Are they slower than units that came with WM5 preinstalled? Could it have anything to do with the different types of memory? What about battery life, that should be the same, right?

I'm still waiting for my CD to arrive, but before I install it, I want to know if performance will be the same as on an X51, or if we have to wait for future upgrades to get even that far.

If anyone who's had time to do a comparison could share their results, that would probably help a lot of people in my position.

Some people said that x50v actually feels faster after the upgrade.

Actually, I think x50v will likely be slower than the x51v because NAND ROM (in x51v) writes faster than Strataflash ROM (in x50v). I can notice the difference because I also own an x50v. Programs I installed on the rom in the x50v (WM2003SE) now starts a lot quicker and responds faster on the x51v.

But I could be wrong. It may just be the OS. But programs I used to install on the BIS in the x50v do run faster on the x51v.

^^^^^^^^^^^ I don't understand - when you are loading a program it should be only the read speed of the ROM which makes a difference. I can see how the install speed might be affected but not the loading time.

and as a matter of fact, i dont feel it's slower,
battery life, i cannot compare, since the WM 5 OS is newer on the X50v upgrade, it uses 4 MB more than X51v for so reason and so the battery life comparision will not be accurate

Does the 4MB RAM difference seem to make any difference in performance? Overall, it might be hard to make a comparison, but which feels snappier, the X51v or the upgraded X50v? Or are they pretty much the same?

I'm trying to convince myself that I made the right decision buying a cheap X50v to upgrade instead of buying the X51v. :)
