How often do you have to soft/hard reset your axim x51v?
I used it for 3 days so far and had to soft reset it once today. Active sync wont connect and switcher bar wont recognize programs running (it sees no program running).

i soft reset it every few days, sometimes it gets unreposonsive and i'm too impatient to wait for it to load everything. sometimes it just freezes up. i haven't yet had to hard-reset.

I soft reset about once a day and, when I am having problem with say a new program, a few times a day. Hard reset? Only twice in the year that I have had the x50. If I do a hard reset, I'd have to reinstall everything, along with my credit card number for every e-book bought from ereader.com. This is not for the faint hearted.

I keep having a problem with GWES, I think that I have done a softreset at least once a day. Luckily no hard reset, even though tech support had suggested it.

soft resets
I'm at the low end also but this is a replacement unit I had dell replace it. the first unit had to be reset 2-3 times a day then I did a hard reset and the frequency dropped to once a day. (which I find totally unacceptable) I have had the new one 6 days and did two soft rests I had the heating problem while unit was off killing the battery, the missing cf file and a momentary white screen . I have never seen anything like this or at least been a part of it. dell is helping I wonder about microsoft. This x51 is a gr8 unit but Dag!

All the resets I had to do far are software related. So far I had to do 1 hard reset to get one of my programs to work properly. As for the soft resets - it depends on what programs I'm using. I get annoyed when programs don't release all the memory after close so I do a soft reset. Sometimes even if WiFi is on I might be unable to connect to the net (I had same issues on Ipaq h4150 running WM2003 and so consider this an OS problem) so I might do soft reset then as well. If I didn't play games or connected using WiFi then I think I could soft reset once a week though I don't see a why this would be that useful. I consider doing soft reset as essential for ppc smooth running.

1-10 times a day depending on how I feel.
Hardresets, only on upgrades.
