Must be doing something wrong with this as it's just not working for me at all. I have an x51v and have done the following:
1. Unpacked the contents of VGA.ZIP to a single directory. This gives me a total of 21 files.
2. Plug-in ActiveSynch and attempt to copy these 21 files to a temporary location on the x51v. It fails on copying instmsgrresources.96.dll and pmsnresources.96.dll but as these two are not part the original VgaRes.Zip I decide to push on.
3. I remove the PDA from the cradle and using the File Explorer on the PDA, copy all 19 files to the \Windows folder.
4. Then I create a shortcut to OzVGA.exe and place that in the Start Menu.
5. I run OzVGA and make no setting changes, just click the OzVGA! button.
6. The PDA resets and just sits dumbly at the 'Dell' splash screen. No amount of soft resets do anything, so a Hard Reset is required and I'm back to square one.
What am I doing wrong? If I run OzVGA without any dlls copied it works but has icon issues. Am I meant to be running the .cab file or something? Any help would be appreciated, even the 'no icons' view of True VGA has me desperate to get this working :)
Thanks!

All the files in 'windows folder files' must be copied to windows directory. u can't do it throught active sync. suggest you copy to memory card first and then copy from memory card to windows folder thru 3rd party file explorer such as resco.
the file 'sdkcerts.cab' must be copied in to ppc and install from there.
finnally run ozvga from device.

1. copy the cab, OzVGA.exe and the dll's somewhere that is not \windows
2. run the cab file
3. copy the dll's to \windows via resco or simular
4. run OzVGA
That how i do it.

I think it is not very useful ,because my eyes is not very good, but the real VGA is very useful when you use the IE,I'm waiting for the NETFRONT 3.4that will support the WM5

Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I've followed all the steps successfully, but don't see any difference in any apps or screens. Is there a way to test if you are in QVGA or VGA mode? I thought I remembered seeing a jpg that you could tell by how much picture you could see (which tells you the resolution).
Thanks,
CJ

The bar looks the same to me, but I'm using Wisbar Advance 2, so I'm not sure if that affects it or not. I'll try disabling it and see what happens.
Thanks,
CJ

I must have just started the OzVGA wrong. It's working now. Boy that text is tiny- even when using the largest setting!

Is there anyway to have the use of VGA ONLY in Pocket IE? Or to exclude certain programs? Pocket Quicken is unusable in VGA since the text is too small and I cannot adjust it and really the ony program I really need VGA for is Pocket IE

No that does not work since PIE is already VGA Aware. I want to use REAL VGA like OZVGA does with PIE but not with other programs

But there is a cab file i nthere that will allow loading of un signed dll's...
Basicly if there not signed by microsoft they don't work... they do with the patch.

Wasn't that impressed. Caused missing icons and my keyboard won't even work corretly. Wonder if there is any way to make it work only for internet browsing, instead of for everything?
Main question: how do you remove it completely if you're not satisfied? I reverted it back to SEVGA, and after the reboot, deleted the .exe and cert file. Anything else I need to do, such as remove the files from the windows folder or anything from the registry?
