That 7 pound del. charge seems a little steep.

Just checked my order status and it says delivery around or before the 17th, just in time for the ROM upgrade. I think I'll wait for the ROM upgrade and do it as one job, a bit like the chicken and the egg I have no idea which will be first. £7.00 is steep for a CD but cheaper than the normal minimum from Dell which is usually £15.00; whenever I have asked for a price and that included ordering a USB Sync cable it was £15.00, I waited two week for Expanysys :approve: - quicker and easier.

Rip off. Absolute, utter rip off. 7 pound postage for a CD? What planet are they living on?

Don't install this yet - it's _unusable_. Anyone who thinks it is is lying to save face.

a) Power on fails (?!?!?)
b) Slow. Truly, truly slow. I had to switch off all the power saving features to make it usable.
c) CF Card vanishes!
d) Battery - mine drained 1 DAY. I usually got a week before a recharge.

This is certainly not "fit for purpose."

Yep still in production - but Dell's information is a bit sketchy at best, I've had "still in production" when the courier was on the doorstep delivering!

This may be a holding device, if there are too many issues with the original release they may be awaiting a new release that effectively includes the fixes before shipping the CD's - I know I can dream :-)

Either that or they are waiting for sufficient orders to be inplace before ordering the CD's, Dells lack of openess makes it very hard to like them as a company or understand what they are doing with orders

It seems to follow the pattern of our American cousins. Long waits for no apparent reason etc....

So, following the long established pattern... does that mean that we'll all get screwed when they do arrive on this side of the pond?!

well as its the same version... on the same hardware... then I think the answer is put the cd in your draw until the rom update comes out is a very cunning plan.

Unless you are feeling brave
