the (Default) key contains the Label of the softkey
the Open key contains the path with the application to launch.
I have used those keys when generating the WM5 themes.
Thank you! With what tool you use to generate WM5 themes? And how do you embed those keys?

I am using a french freeware called Ppctodaythemes available in our website (www.ppccool.com). The tool was developped by one of our website member called STEF. It's based on ThemeBuilder. You can download it here (log as host with password host), don't forget the 1.1 patch at the end of the thread.
I don't think french is an issue for you right. :)
Then I'm using a specific .inf file that I will attach to this post. In this inf file everything behind a ; is a comment. Because STEF doesn't have any WM5 device is tool is not specifically designed for WM5. That's why I have to modify the .inf files every time I want to create a new theme.
This line:
HKCU,%reg_theme%,DPI,0x00010001,192
is used to create a true VGA (96 value) or a native VGA theme (192 value), so you wont have to change so often leave it to 192 if you want to have a native VGA theme.
This line:
HKLM,%reg_path%,BaseHue,0x00010001,77777777
will define the color of the system Bars, I don't know how it's used exactly to generate the color, that's why I did several try and found some code randomly that stick to one color.

Pas de probleme!

You will find other example in the file.

I know about the color shart it's used by the other color values but for some reason the BaseHue key doesn't follow the chart and I don't know how exactly the value is used to generate the WM5 system color gradient.
Make sure you look at the right place. See attached in the LAN or high-speed Internet...Local Area Connecton 6.
thanks for the screenie SolSie, however I'm currently looking at my Network Connections folder and all I see is my single Local Area Connection (Network card) and that's it.
This is really frustrating...i need this so i can stop the stupid BSOD from coming up everyime i wanna sync my x50v installed with wm5 with activesync 4.1

HEEEEEELLLLPPP!!!
I assume your USB connection is OK and you need to look in to your TCP/IP stack & your firewall stuff. Perhaps reading this
would help..
BTW, have you tried to ActiveSync thru Ir (Infrared)?

I still have problems with the German A00 ROM of WM5 on my X50.
I applied all the patches mentioned in this and other threads.
The fake server in AS, the I/O hack, the CF-card hack (I did not experience problems with that) and I disabled the battery meter of Pocket Plus on top of the screen and as the little icon on the today screen.
At first it seemed to work but a few minutes later the same problem again. The Axim is reeeeeal slow and is running the CPU on maximum speed all the time. I turned it off and turned it on 15 minutes later, same problem. Now, 1 hour later the CPU goes down to 104MHz. Hmmmm what is going on?
But still the power consumption is very high. 6% from 9am to 11:30am without doing anything exept typing in one appointment. Also I noticed that yesterday when I made a softreset the Axim bootet up and was trying to connect somewhere. The animated icon which was shown on top looks like if WLAN is trying to connect to an access point. Strange because WLAN was turned off. After another softreset everything was back normal. It was not the first time I noticed that.
BTW: Isn't there a programm where I can see which task is taking so much CPU? Like the Windows task manager. I only found task managers for WM where exactly this feature isn't there... PHM Task Manager only shows half of the information shown on the screenshots in the internet.
Help is very apreachiated because I cannot downgrade to WM2003SE again, see this thread. So I have to use my handheld with WM5... :rolling:
Thanks very much,
Martin

Roi, You might want to read the post#1 of this thread and tip of the day 12/31 for more detail!

You mean that I can read there that Filesys is taking much of the CPU and how often it works and that I can possibly make the situation better by setting the CPU speed from "Auto" to different values? Yeah I read that but like always I just wanted to see it with my own eyes that Filesys is the killer application on the handheld. ;-)
Are there any more things I can do - exept wait for an update (which will take a loooong time until there will be a German update I think) or getting an exchange handheld from Dell with WM2003SE (which they offered my this evening on the hotline)?

Ok I see. You mean deleting these two registry key or setting the registry keys to a certain value, right? I saw that I did not mention it above - I actually did delete both keys. I did not try to set the keys to a certain value because there are different values mentioned in several threads. Should I try this and if yes, what value? 255 for both keys? I read that 128 was adviced somewhere.
If I overread again where you wanted to point me on, sorry again! :-)
/EDIT: I just set both keys to 255 as described in "Tip of the day 12/31" in the first post of this thread. I hope it helps...

Hm no change... :-/ After softresetting the CPU was at 520MHz and stayed there. But also after deleting the keys and softresetting again. CPU still at 520MHz for a couple of minutes. Is this just one of these runs of filesys I cannot prevent? Man, it cannot be that such a background task is taking the complete system...

Sad, but true.
If you want to see it by yourself you can use Entrec Procman, a remote process viewer that whows all the processes and threads running, it priority level and how much CPU are using.
I've studied the problem and seems that the only solution if FATFS/Flags in 44d and delete the two keys mentioned above.
This seems to work for some people... not for all.
