X51v and Voice Command 1.5

I'm having an absolute ball with my Axim and voice commands. I understand it is not perfect, but it sure impresses the ladies.

The only problem I have is that when I say "Show John Doe" it should display the contact info for the person, buy mine displays a blank white screen with Contacts at the top, and summary and notes tabs at the bottom. It seems to switch to the proper application but can't display the information.

Dell technical support has never encountered this issue.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions other than waiting for a new rom release (>A01) in a few weeks?

TIA.

Voice Command 1.5 is not WM 5 compliant. Kind of crazy that MS doesn't already have a new version for WM 5. Early on there was a rumor that Voice Command was supposed to be built into WM 5, what ever happened with that?

AXIM and Voice Command

Having same problem with blank screen. You will find that it does pull up the correct notes. So as a temp fix, you might put your frequent information in the notes window. I have contacted Microsoft tech support with problem but they have not responded to my case.

I've been using Voice Command too. Haven't found many uses for it yet. But my 5 year old loves to hear it talk to her. She says "it's just like on star trek, daddy."

Thanks, I feel much better knowing that I'm not the only one. Hopefully it will get fixed over time.

I never used it for looking up contacts but I had problems when I would use it with media player. It would repeat back to me what I said but never do what I said (next track... next track.... I SAID Next track!!!)

Actually that is the best use I have found for it so far. Driving down the road with the Axim hooked up to an FM transmitter I can listen to MP3's and tell it what to play without having to take it out of its case. Very nice on long trips.

Too bad it doesn't work well in WM 5
