Wlan Utility missing

Hi, i've recently purchased a x50 and i've been trying to get the wi-fi to work. I've purchased a linksys wireles card(802.11b)
to help me get those hotspot signals that provide free internet. However i can't seem to follow the sticky threads. I've installed latest driver for x50 (R106213) and installed latest driver for the linksys card. I don't know why i don't have the wlan utility. I go to start menu -> settings -> connections -> and that's where im stuck. I don't seem to have the wlan utility. All that appears is (beam) (bluetooth) (connections) (network cards). Is there a site i can download the wlan utility or any subtitution software? Thanks

The WLAN utility is essentially the driver program for the built-in wireless. Since your model does not have it built in, you'll need to use the configuration utility that is supplied with the Linksys. I looked at the WCF-12 card manual and it puts a small icon in the lower right of the Today screen when the card is inserted and there is also an icon on the Programs page. Tapping on either will give you access to a utility that has many of the same features as the Dell version although you may need to look around it a little for the specific settings you want. If you have a different card, the utility is probably similar but post back and I'll do some investigating if you need me to.

There are also other programs that may be more user frendly than the Linksys. Many here like WiFiFoFum (freeware) and WinCE (payware).

I am looking into the programs folder, there is a Linksys WCF54g wireless network monitor icon. When i go into it, it shows Status : Driver not Loaded. Could this be the problem ? I also installed wififofum going to find out how to make it work. Thanks responding so fast.
