How many of you still have the security prompt?

How many of you have not disabled the security prompt yet.

And what do you think about this feature of the Microsoft OS implemented by Dell?

I have it; I don't mind it... the only problem is that pretty much everything is "from an unknown publisher." But anything that keeps me aware of what is happening on my PPC is good by me. No ActiveX installing random malware, thank you very much.

that's a prompt asking for authorization the first time you run or install a unsigned program? I wonder if the X50v upgrade came with this option activated.

No, but in between replying to this article and now, I did decide to use a mui file to get VGA in Acrobat, and so yes, mine is disabled now too.

However, if it weren't for that, I would still rather have it on...I liked it until I decided I liked hi-res pdf's even more. :)

I have it. I know how to remove it but don't see why I would. It's not that bad.

Actually, I never had the problem with .mui files not working even with the security thing enabled. That test program ran flawlessly either way. However, since I tend to install/remove a *lot* of software, I disabled it to speed things up. I suppose once I get more settled on what programs I want, I might enable it again. x51v A06, though no issues on A04 with it enabled either (didn't try on A01).

That's weird. Let me try it in A06.

well, i tested again. if the security prompt is activated that program that that I created does not show the yellow flower in the center, that means that the MUI file is not working.
