Can I use CF Type I with my X51v ?

In the specification and on the manual of x51v it says it supports only CF Type II, but I read on a thread that it was supported on x50v. Why it is not supported on x51v then?

You can use either Type I or II.

wow, Thats good. But on the specification why they say only about supporting type II ?

Because Type II is backward combatible with Type I.

Actually it's the other way around. The only real difference between type I and type II CF cards is thickness. CF Type II cards are 5mm thick whereas Type I cards are 3.3mm. So in actuality type I cards are compatable with type II slots, but type II cards are not backward compatable with type I slots.
