Help with rollback WM-5 to 2003 for X50?

I'm not quite as tech-savvy as most on this site, and I naively upgraded my X50 to WM-5 without it ever occurring to me that there might be problems!

It hasn't been horrible but I see no improvements, and everything is so very slow. Synchronizing is now a painful experience. When cradled, my Axim randomly turns on after I've turned it off (okay, I'm sure it's not actually random, but I can't discern a pattern). Useful navigation options are now gone. I just want to go back, and the only posts I've seen on here apply to the X50v. Mine's just the X50...

So, my question is if I simply backup everything to Outlook, remove my Axim from the cradle, uninstall ActiveSync from my PC, do a hard reset of the Axim, and then reinstall from my original 2003 CD, will that take me back?

I'd be ever so appreciative of advice.

There is no difference between turning back to WM2003SE on a X50v vs X50. The h/w diff is the VGA screen. Form and functionality is the same. Instructions for X50v is/should work for your X50.

Not sure if your process is correct as I have not tried it. So, I cannot comment.

Make sure you have d/l'ed the latest ActiveSync v3.8? (for WM2003SE), and the latest ROM for the X50.

Good luck.

Hopefully that link will work. It's the WM5->WM2003SE downgrade for the X50.
