wm5 - how to install programs to BIS?

Hi

I have just upgraded my x50v with WM5. please could someone tell me where to find my BIS and how to install programs there. as it seems that there is no longer an option for this and my main memeory is getting rather full with only a couple of programs installed.

thanks for your help!

Just select Instal to "Device" at prompt.

You're better off installing to SD or CF. BIS and RAm are combined on WM5.

There is no Built-in storage in WM5. Installing to the device is the same as the old BIS, which is in flash ROM.

BIS and RAM are NOT combined in WM5!

RAM is still RAM, and BIS is now simply referred to as ROM. WM5 has changed the memory architecture to resemble more of a desktop computer.

You're able to store program in (flash) ROM, and RAM is now used strictly for running programs and is wiped whenever you turn off the device or pull the battery (on the x51 series).

That's correct. However keep in mind, that amount will go down as soon as you reset the device because of programs being loaded/run.

Not the case, since BIS is so slow the OS uses a page file and caching which takes up about half of your ram. On average you will have 29MB of free RAM.
