My X50 MID "thinks" it's a X50 LOW :(

Hi guys, this happens randomly, but lately i'm stuck with my x50 mid not having wifi, and reporting only 416mhz
Sometimes with a hard or soft reset it will gain it's real state, but it's taking too damn long!!

Is there anything i can do to fix this manually? a register setting or so?

Please help... im desperate

The Hard-Reset should fix that for you. Also, just a long shot, but have you tried going into Start > Settings > System > Power then the Processor tab and putting your Processor on Maximum Performance?

Well, the processor speed isn't telling you anything. That's going to change depending on the load if you have the processor speed set to "Auto". Go to Start/Settings/Power and go to the Processor tab. You'll see that you can set it for 1) Maximum Performance 2) Normal 3) Power Saving or 4) Auto. I leave mine on Auto.

As for the wireless going down on you - what ROM version are you running? I'm running A02 on my unit and have never had trouble with it.

If it's not WM5 doing it, your hardware is faulty. I'm running 2003se A05 on my X50 mid. Always capable of operating at full speed, with Wi Fi. At least its behavior hints at the root of the problem; apparently, there is a hardware setting that indicates to the ROM which X50 version you have. Perhaps some pin tied to ground indicates X50low, and there is a piece of schmutz shorting it sometimes. Does it happen more often when the relative humidity is high?
