pdfs and x51v

Dear Axim-ers,

Recently got my first PDA (x51v) and am loving it!

However I have a question about blurry pdfs I hope you would not mind answering: I installed Adobe Acrobat Reader PPC 2.0 and downloaded the tweak "AcroRd32.exe.0409.zip" that I found in other threads. I unzipped and renamed the mui file to AcroRd32.exe then placed it in the folder where the executable is. It didn't work.

I am wondering if this tweak is designed only for x50v? Anyone tried using it with x51v ? Maybe I am doing something wrong. Thanks.

Please do a search and I'm sure you'll find all the information you need. This has been an ongoing topic.

It should work for all WM5 devices, maybe even on WM2003. Read the instruction carefully. The file should be named AcroRd32.exe.0409.mui on an English device.

The .mui file doesn't replace AcroRd32.exe but sits next to it in the same directory. So you would copy acrord32.exe.0409.mui into the directory that has acrord32.exe.

The trick here is that renaming the .mui file to ?????.exe.0409.mui so that ????? matches the name of the .exe file will add vga-aware support to that program. So you can copy and rename the .mui file for use with any other program that you think needs to be made vga-aware.

I think tweaks2k2 has a feature to add the correctly named .mui file to any program of your choosing.

You need to install the setsecurity utility to disable the Dell&MS security checking first, without this, the mui file is useless. See the post under my signature to get the utility!

BTW: Have you heard of Repligo, which is much smaller than Acrobat. FYI http://www.cerience.com/index.htm
