I'm a student at the University of Florida, and the majority of my classes use WebCT as a generic, formulated web site for their classes. In purchasing my new X51v, I was hoping to be able to view online material posted while in class without having to carry the laptop to class. Those things are just so huge! :approve:
Unfortunately for me (and possibly others?) IE for WM5 doesn't seem to support the frames required on the website. I'm just curious if anyone knows of a fix or an update in order to get IE to support frames. I once got an error saying that IE doesn't support +10 frames... don't know if there's anything I can do.
On a side note, WebCT is such a piece of crap and does not have a frameless version. I'm more mad at WebCT than my Axim, but anger doesn't help much. Any advice would be awesome, thanks in advance.
i must say i am in a similar boat, with the issue of webct, i found that running in default display with no images to be the best, also hiding the navagation bar helps alot, although i haven't been able to get it to consistently work, but the few times it actually did work was nice, so its possible, but i dunno how exactly
Try netfront. It's a very advanced browser that's capable of viewing almost everything with problems. Though, I'm not sure whether it works with WM 5 yet.

Yah I faced the same problem when I was in Simon Fraser University and some of the courses used WebCT. PIE cannot handle the frames and the javascripts needed to log in and view pages. Then I tried Netfront 3.2 and it worked! while not perfect I'm sure you'll find that Netfront works a lot better than PIE. :approve:

Any reported problems with NetFront v3.2 not working with a X51v w/ROM A01? PIE will visit websites, but NF won't go anywhere from its startup page. I'll keep trying, thanks for the help!
I'll look for NetFront 3.3 when I get home this evening, thanks!
3.2 doesn't work at all.
Minimo is very attractive and seems to work, but for some reason my browser screen is...the best term I can say is "squished" up at the top of the screen right beneath the address bar. Any ideas?
Another rant about WebCT: It's a piece of useless excrement. I don't expect my teachers to be able to construct beautiful websites by any stretch, but a simple generated HTML site works a lot better than WebCT. Granted, assignment submittal may be a bit trickier for those who decide not to use WebCT, but then there's the archaic idea of "e-mail me your homework!" Simpler is better.

Hi, I am a student too and have to deal with webct. You mentioned it worked on your Netfront 3.2. I download technical review version of 3.3 yesterday and it does not work, like usinf IE, I cannot even login to my account on webct. I wonder how you made it to work. May be b/c of the review version? Thanks a lot for your help.
