OK, so I guess I'll wait on WM5. This x50v still beats the Jornada 548.

I just wish ActiveSync wasn't such a pain.

Since your Axim is working perfectly, try these things for me:

Connect to an access point wirelessly, then start browsing with IE. Tell me that it doesn't move like a snail. Start up MSN Messenger and tell me that it doesn't take almost a minute to connect, then have typing response that is too slow to tolerate.

Plug in your VGA cable and connect to an external monitor. Tell me that the image isn't completely off the screen.

Start up WMP and start playing a list of MP3s. Tell us that you are able to do anything else without the music breaking up.

Set your Axim in the cradle and let AS start syncing. Tell me that your Axim isn't more or less useless while it is trying to sync.

This list could go on a lot further, but I think the point is clear. There are a LOT of problems with the OS build and the fixes listed in various threads are only small band-aids. On top of that, the WM5 build we are all using was --designed specifically for our PDAs-- and shouldn't have to be hacked up in order to work.

I'm not here to twist anyone's arm, just letting know those on the fence that the grass is greener over here.

I dont have a vga cable, but aside from that...

My WM5 websurfing with NF 3.3 surpasses any mobile surfing i've ever done (not counting my laptop). Mobile MSN works fine for me, i've had a few conversations that have gone fine. Connects nearly as fast as my desktop. I dont listen to music through WMP cause the program has always been trash, and instead use TCMP for audio and video. And as far as syncing goes, i've never been one to multitask *while* im syncing. I'm not much for waiting or what have you, but I can stop using my axim for the time it takes to sync.

Again I'm not trying to say there are no issues, but I'm saying that the workarounds to get WM5 running nicely are both easy to implement, and in a lot of cases are things I would have done or installed anyway (TCMP, NF, etc)
