Maybe you could ask for the password...

If you are allowed to connect to that network! Say you are already connecting to it wirelessly using a laptop; you could use the same information to connect with your Axim!

If and when using a laptop you connect true a web portal, which is a bit trickier and might not work with PIE!

Also to consider: the wireless network should support 802.11b for Axim to connect!

often universities require a university id. if you have a laptop it will probably be the same. check with the student IT center. Some universities on verify and register computer mac addresses, so you may be out of luck. again check with the IT dept.

i know the password and i can connect my laptop, but it doesnt work. i called dell and they told me that if the wireless network has a password then it has some sort of encryption going on and the Axim doesnt has the encryption script, i was hoping if there was something i could download to get it working. I am a Uni student and i can go to the campus and see if i have any luck. plus i didnt know that the Axim X51 didnt play video files. or can they?

Course they can play video.

You need to find out what sort of security they are using. It's not something that you can do through guesswork. Go and ask them how it's configured and what sort of information they typically provide to laptop users.
