Hi there. Just bought a 625Mhz x51v (hong kong).
It said it supports 640x480, is there anywhere to set the resolution. As I was browsing through the IE, it doesn't look like a 640x480 to me though.

oh...so u still have to modify the reg. inorder to get 640x480 for WM2005?
That's weird, I thought the 624Mhz is default with 640x480 with 3.7' screen.
WM is special in a sense that it uses the extra pixels to "smooth" the screen, and not increase the working area. So it is essentially 320x240 with a screen capable of 640x480.
SEVGA / OzVGA change the resolution so the screen will display the real 640x480.
I personally recommend Oz over SE_VGA -- SE_VGA's functionality really sucks compared to Oz.
Well, sort of. What it does is not exactly 320x240 or normal 640x480. If you look at text on the website, and set it to smallest size, clearly the text is not in 320x240. But the graphics size becomes sort of bloated. What it actually does is pixel double the graphics, so that each pixel takes up 2x2 pixels, in some applications. This is where things get screwy. And more so because PIE dynamically resizes pictures when you're in the single column view. :(
Pocket IE and Acrobat Reader are a couple of key examples where this leads to a not-great experience. If you do the hack, then the pixel doubling goes away.
For Acrobat, you can do a fix that just fixes Acrobat, but it doesn't apply to PIE.... :(
