Move dll's

Hi again ;)

Here they discuss moving dll's.
http://discussion.brighthand.com/sho...&postid=773927

Is it possible to use this to move ALL dll's to BIS? Or is this impossible or not adviced? What would be ok to move?

I used a program that said, “Backup prior to moving DLL’s”.

That being said, “I moved mine” & crashed! I had to do a hard reset & thank God I had Sprite because I was back up & running in 10 minutes.

Now there are more knowledgeable individuals here than I & they may say you can do so with no problem, but I will never move DLL’s again!

NEVER/ NEVER, NEVER move any dll files. Most of the time the program they are associated with look for them in pre-determined areas...if they are not there, the program will crash!

I've always used MemMaid to move dlls. It tells you which ones can be safely moved (based on user experience), and has a simple interface for seeing which ones are in the Main Memory, which ones have been moved to a Card. You can easily move them back if your software doesn't work.

Some programs won't work if you move the dlls, but even then, for some programs which I use only occasionally, I've moved dll files to a memory card for storage to save RAM, and move them back when I need to run the program!

Yes, I use Memmaid for this to. I was just thinking about all the system dll's in the windows folder that Memmaid does not list. I wondered if any of them were safe to move.
